EVERY YEAR 80,000 PEOPLE SUFFER FROM STROKE IN ASSAM

29th of October is celebrated as the World Stroke Day. On that occassion, GNRC Hospitals, Guwahati urged citizens to care for their health and spread awareness about stroke.

Through various community engagement programmes they seek  to facilitate ‘Heathy Assam’ by creating awareness about early signs of stroke – FAST (Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech slurred, time to call an ambulance)

According to the World Health Organization, 15 million people suffer from stroke worldwide each year.  Out of the 15 million, 5 million dies and another 5 million permanently disabled.

Addressing the event, Dr. Nomal Chandra Borah, Founder, Affordable Health Mission and GNRC, said ” On the ocassion of World Stroke day, let us join our hands to fight against stroke. One in four of us will have a stroke but its preventable, don’t be the one.”
