2 Satra Mukti Sangram Samiti Leaders Arrested In Tinsukia

Two leaders of the Akhil Gogoi-led Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti’s students’ wing, Satra Mukti Sangram Samiti (SMSS) were arrested from Panitola in Tinsukia district of Assam on Saturday.

Champak Barua alias Naku, vice president of Tinsukia unit of SMSS and Disangko Gogoi were arrested for their alleged involvement in the incident of attempting to burn the Indian National Flag and hoist ULFA-I flag and later upload the video on social media.

Dhemaji Police has earlier arrested Parthajit Konwar, Mrinal Phukan and Janak Baruah and Uday Duarah in connection to the incident.

As per reports, police also seized four mobile handsets, one motorcycle and two ULFA-I flags from the possession of the arrested four persons.
