“Assam’s multiple diversity and identity are not recognized by the policymakers of the country. The multicultural state should be accepted by the mainstream India in its proper perseptives” stated journalist Ashok Mallik delivering ‘ Harendranath Baruah Memorial Lecture’ at Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture on Saturday.

Padmashree Mallik emphasised on the need of visionary and true journalists who not only write reports and editorials but also shapes ideas in the society.

Eminent personalities including Media Advisor to the CM, Rishikesh Goswami, Padmashree Ajay Dutta, Padmashree Eli Ahmed, former editor of the Sentinel Dhirendra Nath Bezbaruah, writer Dilip Hazarika, journalist Samudra Gupta Kashyap etc were present on the occasion.

The HN Baruah Memorial Committee felicitated Manoj Goswami, editor-in-chief of DY365 on the occasion.
