Assam is looking at over 75 lakh domestic and 50,000 foreign tourists following digital promotions and documentaries for the financial year 2020.
Assam Tourism Development Corporation ( ATDC) chairman, Jayanta Malla Baruah stated that the state received 41,000 overseas and 60,27,002 domestic visitors in Financial year 2019.
Baruah informed that the top source market is the United Kingdom, Germany, Israel, china and other South Asian countries.
He further stated that the World Bank had allocated in Principal Rs. 270 crore for infrastructure development of various destinations in the state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also declared 17 destinations as iconic for which separate funds will be allocated by the centre.
Baruah further added that ATDC is also aiming to promote the states rich and composite culture, tea garden, wildlife and other attractions in addition to its natural beauty.
