There were much euphoria among her supporters in UP when she has been appointed Congress General Secretary of the Eastern UP by Party president and her brother Rahul Gandhi on 23rd of January last.
In her first election rally in UP after taking up the formal party post, Priyanka joined Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and Jyotiraditya Scindia for a roadshow in Lucknow, but did not utter a single word in the daylong journey.
Sources say, Priyanka Gandhi will not speak at any of the future rallies too and let brother Rahul Gandhi do all the talking.
Priyanka Gandhi, as she has been doing so far, will work behind the curtains and focus more on strengthening Congress’s organizational structure in Uttar Pradesh.
According to Sources, Priyanka Gandhi will not contest the Lok Sabha elections because Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi are already contesting two seats, the Gandhi bastions of Amethi and Rae Bareli.
