1ST BATTALION NDRF CELEBRATED ENVIRONMENT DAY CAMPAIGN

Guwahati,6 June: 1st Battalion National Disaster Response Force Patgaon Guwahati carried out activities on the eve of the world environment day on 05th June 2019, ranging from plantation of tree saplings at different NDRF teams locations including Patgaon, Azara, Mirza (Palashbari), Chansari (Kamrup Rural), Bongaigaon, Silchar, Jorhat (Assam), Agartala, (Tripura) and Lungverh, Aizawl (Mizoram), organized 05 km run, Cyclothon, debate, workshops, discussions on topics “ How to Reduce Air Pollution” Drawing, Poetry competition and Video shows to generate awareness among the masses.

More than 400 personnel of NDRF and 100 personnel of local villages participated in environment day campaign with the promise make substantial contribution to our mother earth .
In the programme Mrs Daisy Sastri, President NDRF wives welfare association, 1st BN NDRF distributed Certificate & gifts to ladies & children who participated in 05 km run, Cyclothon, debate, Workshop, discussion, drawing, Poetry competition on World Environment Day campaign.
1st Bn NDRF has been able to create massive public awareness about the environmental issues and an active agency in developing awareness regarding environmental safety measures, and has been suggesting the ways and means be taken to deal with such environmental issue during number of community awareness programme capacity building programme and mock drills conducted jointly with sister agencies.
